Albania’s public broadcaster, RTSH, has announced that the procedure for participation in the 57th edition of “Festivali i Këngës”, which traditionally takes place in the end of the year, is now open.

It’s the first time that RTSH calls artists to subscribe so early, as it has not been a week since the end of the Grand Final in Lisbon. The deadline date has not yet been announced, which seems to be just as straightforward.

The first “Festivali i Këngës” was held in 1962 and over the years it gained great prestige and is now Albania’s most popular musical competition. Since 2004, the winner of the festival has the right to represent the country at Eurovision

The most recent winner is Eugent Bushpepa, who overturned the predictions that wanted him out of the Final and managed to finish in the very good 11th place, with 184 points, with the song “Mall” .

So we expect more information about the fact which will give us the next Albanian representative at 64th Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Israel in 2019.
