Belarus: National final acts and entries revealed

The auditions held by the Belarusian national broadcaster, in order to select the 12 acts that will compete in th country’s national final for Eurovision 2020 was completed this evening. The 12 acts were officially announced bringing the national selection to the next stage.

The national broadcaster received 49 applications of interest in representing the country in Eurovision 2020. Once the 49 acts performed their entries before a special jury, the number was shorlisted concluding in the final 12 finalists.

  1. Anastasiya Hlamоzda – Burning Again 
  2. Darya Khmelnitskaya – On Fire
  3. АURА – Barany svajo
  4. VАL – Da vidna
  5. Angelika Pushnоva –True Love   
  6. NAPOLI – Don’t Let Me Down 
  7. Sasha Zakharik – Rocky Road 
  8. KeySi – Chili Pepper 
  9. Yan Yarosh – Fire 
  10. Anastasiya Razvadоvskaya – Hello 
  11. CHАKRАS – La-ley-la 
  12. Anastasiya Malashkevich – Invisible

The national final will be held at the 600 Metrov Studio in the capital city of Minsk. Televoting will be back in the picture and alongside with the jury (50%- 50%) will determine the country’s Eurovision 2020 representative.

THE EUROVISION STORY SO FAR

Belarus has been participating in Eurovision since 2004 without missing an edition since its first participation. Its best placing so far was in 2007 with Dmitry Koldun and Work Your Magic which finished 6th in the final. This remains Belarus’ only top ten placement. Belarus also qualified for the final in 2010, 2013, 2014, 2017 and 2019. On the other hand its worst result came in 2006 with Polina Smolova who finished 22nd in the semi final.

In 2018 Alekseev represented the country with his song Forever but unfortunantely didn’t make it to the final as he finished 16th in the 1st semi final. In this year’s contest the country was represented by national final winner,Zena, who performed “Like it” in Tel Aviv . Lets remember Zena’s energetic performance in Tel Aviv:
