It was revealed today that 8 acts will compete in the upcoming Czech Republic’s national selection for Eurovision 2019, ESCZ 2019, who will take place next January. 

MIKOLAS REVEALS NF DETAILS

After last year’s 6 national final acts, this year the national final will have a total of 8 competing acts battling for the golden tickets to Tel Aviv. The news didn’t come from any broadcaster’s announcement but from last year’s Eurovision representative Mikolas Josef , who through his Instagram story revealed that the national final will see one band, 4 women and 3 men comepting to represent the country in Eurovision 2019.

According to previous information the national final details incuding the contestants will be revealed on January 7 while the voting format will be the same with the previous year’s .

The story so far in Eurovision

Czech Republic appeared for the first time in the Contest in 2007 with  Kabat. A a row of disappointing results the country withdrew in 2010 and didn’t return until 2016. In 2016 its returned was followed by a gran final qualification for the first time . The best result came for the country in this year’s edition of the contest with  Mikolas Josef who achieved a 6th placing in the Lisbon with his song και  Lie to me.
