The Finnish Broadcaster YLE announced yesterday that the finalists of Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu (UMK) 2018 – the national final of Finland- will be announced on the 7th of November 2018 at 13:00 CET. The names will be announced on a press conference which will be broadcasted live on the site of UMK on Facebook and on youtube. Krista Siegfrids (Eurovision 2013) and Mikko Silvennoinen, spokesperson of YLE in ESC will be the hosts of the press conference.

Finland has already one victory in ESC in 2006 with Lordi and Hard rock Hallelujah. The last time Finland managed to reach the Grand Final show was in 2014 with Softengine and their song Something better (11th place – 72 points). Last year Normajohn represented Finland in Kiev, after their victory in UMK 2017.  Emma and her song circle of light was great favorite of the evening but after her moderate performance she finished in the 3rd place.
