Israel: The 8 acts that continue on HaKokhav HaBa L’Eurovizion; Kobi Marimi leaves the show

In the previous 4th show of the 4th round of HaKokhav HaBa L’Eurovizion the Israeli edition of The Next Star 2019, we saw which 9 acts continue in the competition and the battle to win thre right to represent Israel in home soil ground next May. In last evening’s show we saw the nine acts performing on the show and one more elimination.

A total of 9 acts remain in the competition and got once more on stage to perform  before the 4 member jury formed by: Assaf Amdursky, Harel Skaat – (Eurovision 2010), Keren Peles, Shiri Maimon – (Eurovision 2005) , Static & Ben El Tavori.  All judges in this 4th round can cast their votes idependently giving from 0 or  8points to each contestant. The rest of the votes come from the audience’s voting.The act that got the highest amount of votes  qualified directly to the next round.

Kobi Marimi – 48%

Ketreyah – 95%

Ofri Halfon – 71%

Shefita – 54%

Tay – 69%

Daniel Barzilai – 59%

Maya Buskila – 77%

Shalva Band – 91%

Avraham de Carvalho – 56%

Therefore the eight acts that continue to the next rounf are:

  • Ketreyah 
  • Ofri Halfon 
  • Shefita 
  • Tay 
  • Daniel Barzilai 
  • Maya Buskila 
  • Shalva Band
  • Avraham de Carvalho

However, according to reports by Ynet, the group Shalva Band, and one of the favorites of representing the host country, is considering withdrawing from the show. The group has gotten by surprise by its achievement to reach so far in the competition, and in a potential Eurovision participation is taking in mind the fact that it has to rehearse on Saturday’s religious holiday.  Shalva Band stated that they will consult a Rabbi and they will make their final decision afterwards.
