The third semi final round of Selecția Națională 2018 took place this evening in Craiova on the stage of the National Theater “Marin Sorescu“. Craiova is the 6th largest city in Romania and the largest commercial city west of Bucharest.

Host of the night were Diana Dumitrescu and Cezar Ouatu.

Another set of 12 contestants competed tonight, out of a total of 60 artists:

The jury was consisted, as in the previous semi finals  of  Liliana Ștefan ( Lyricist of the ESC 1998 Romanian entry), Viorel Gavrilă (composer), Ilinca Băcilă (Romanian ESC 2017 representative alongside with  Alex Florea), Nicu Patoi (guitarist) and Marian Ionescu (guitarist and member and founder of the group Direcția 5).

In the green room was Alina Şerban, a star of TVR Craiova, who watched all the artists’ reactions and feelings.

The guests of the evening were Florin Ristei and the band FreeStay, who presented several songs and their latest single, “If I’m a Wolf“. The band made a unique performance with one of the biggest songs in the history of Eurovision, “Fairytale“, a song that gave Alexander Ribak the victory for Norway in 2009.

Dan Helciug, was also invited to the third semifinal and made a tribute to the legendary Queen band. As a special guest, the young opera singer Mihaela Alexa sung for the audience and the spectators of the third night of Selecția Națională 2018.
