Finland: UMK 2019 National final will take place on March 2.

The Finnish national boradcaster , YLE, announced today on the its official website that the national final of Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu 2019 (UMK) will be held on the 2nd of March 2019

In last national final of UMK , the show featured only one artist , who perfromed three songs and the audience was to determine which one to represent the country. According to UMK producer, Anssi Autio, in next years national selection the show will feature only invited artists, so as that they can focus more on performances and other issues.

The venue of UMK 2019 will be revealed the next two months while the sale of tickets will begin on a future date to be announced.

This year  Saara Aalto was internally selected to represent the country . The show was a special edition of Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu (‘UMK’) where Saara performed three candidate songs. eventually the audience voted for the song Monsters, which unfortunately finsihed in the 2nd last place of the final with only 46 points.
