Albania: Ronela Hajati’s revamped version in Eurovision 2022 with the title ”Sekret” was released today
The revamped version of Ronela Hajati’s with the title ”Sekret” for Eurovision 2022 in Turin was released today.
Following her victory in the Albanian national selection of the Festivali i Këngës in December 2021, Ronela Hajati released today the revamped verison of the song he will perform in Turin, entitled ”Sekret” along with the official music video of the song.
“Sekret” was written by Hadjati herself and produced by the Albanian producer Marco Polo. “Sekret” is an Albanian ethnic pop song that combines traditional and modern elements.
The official music video was shot in Argyrokastro and along the Vjosë River in Byllis and Tepelenë.
The official music video is a tribute to the Albanian mythological snake Bistrice.
The aim of the official music video is to raise public awareness and efforts to preserve the endangered Vjosë River, often referred to as the last living wild river in Europe.
Ronela will be competing in the first half of the first semi final show on May 10 in Turin, Italy.
Albania in Eurovision
Albania has been taking part in the Eurovision Song contest since 2004 and has not won the competition to date.
Best placing so far was in 2012 with Rona Nishliu with her song “Suus” which finished 5th in the final.
In 2021 Albania represented by Anxhela Peristeri who sang “Karma” which finished 21th place with only 57 points.
