Amanda Aasa wins Melodifestivalen 2020 ticket through P4 Nästa
The first competing act of Melodifestivalen has already been determined! Out of the 8 acts that competed in the final of P4 Nästa, that took place at Linköping Konsert & Kongress on August 24 and was aired on the radio in the whole Swedish territory , Amanda Aasa was selected to take part in Melodifestivalen 2020 next February.
A spot in Melodifestivalen without winning
Although Amanda Aasa got the jury ticket to the next edition of Melodifestivalen , she did not win the radiophonic contest. The winner of the competition was Tim Lööv, with his song “All I Need Is You”

According to Melodifestivalen regulations the competing songs of the Swedish national selection cannot be revealed before the festival which means that Amanda’s P4 Nästa entry will not be the one to compete in Melodifestivalen 202, but she will have to submit a new song.
The P4 Nästa story so far
The P4 Nästa ufold every year from March to August. A total of 25 regimes hold competitions which send the acts to the next round. A jury however selects the final 8 acts to compete in the final round. Objective of the show is to bring on the spotlight new or upcoming acts in order to kick off their career in the music scene.
Amanda this year follows The Lovers of Valdaro’s steps who got the right to compete in Melodifestivalen 2019 although they too hadn’t won the competition. In 2017 Les Gordons and in 2018 Stiko Per Larsson won their Melodifestivalen tickects through the P4 Nästa contest as well.
