Thats see the impressions left by this first set of rehearsals, which are closesd for the pressed and all impressions are based on the information we have from EBU and TVP.

Eliana Gomez Blanco from Malta  was the first act to rehearse on stage at Arena Gliwice, performing her entry We Are More. The preselected colors of pink, purple and blue the stage features turn into shades of red as the song escalates.  Notable the a tree that looks as if it ‘growing backwards’ . Eliana was alone on stage and keeps herself and her message in the spotlight. Powerful vocals especially when she delivers the high notes impressively.

Next to take the stage was Kazakhstan’s Yerzhan Maxim on his first rehearsal of  ‘Armanyńnan Qalma’. Throughout the song a frame of yellow light stands behind the act on the middle of the stage, surrounding him until just before the end of the song when the message “Dream on ” on the LED background screen closes the performance . The backdrop is of a sky with stars, with many fountains  projecting water to the top of the LED screen Yerzhan is joined by four dancers on stage. Strong vocals by a confident Yerzhan. A live performance that sounds almost the same with the studio version of the song. Wow !!!

Marta Viola from Italy takes the stage for her first run of rehearsal of his entry La Voce Della Terra. This performances features bright, swirling colors on the background screen which combined with the powerful vocals convey the environmental message the songs aims to pass.

The next act to make its debut rehearsal just before the lunch break is  Anna Kearney with her song  Banshee. The whole stage turns into a forest which adjusts its colors to each season throughtout the song. Orange and gold colored scene for the Autumn while as the performance moves on the background unfolds into a more winter colored version with snow on the trees. Strong vocal that certainly demonstrates the messages that  the courage lies within us to over pass whatever challenges.

After the break the rehearsals go on with Giorgi Rosiashvili making his firsr run performing  We Need Love. A colorful scenery on the background with a night sky of stars, planets, spinning suns, a full moon and of course what else, floating hearts all over, demostrating the title and the meaning of the song. Giorgi’s string vocals pour his heart out to us , outlined the message of his song ” We all need love”

Carla with her four dancers in white is next to rehearse on stage her entry Bim Bam Toi. Carla delivers a rather energetic performance following the beat of thw song, while phrase like ‘BIM BAM BOOM’ pop up on the backround screen according to the beat while the four dancers hold umbrellas during the upbeat part of the song. The first entry we see with such uptempo sound that urges the audience to keep up with the beat thrughout the song.

Liza Misnikova with her dancers is up next to make her first rehearsal of  song ‘Pepelny (Ashen).  Energetic choreography with the dancers wearing strking colors and integrate flags during the performance. Liza although taking big part of the choreography doesn’t lose her strong and firm vocal performance.

Jordan Anthony with his power ballad We Will Rise takes the stage next to rehearse. The song begins with Jordan sitting and playing the piano while at the end he is joined by four dancers . The background throughout the song switches into colors of orange, purple and blue.

Karina from Armenia appear in pink on the stage to rehearse for the first time  Colours of Your Dream. The Armenian act enters through an ornate iron gate while during the song a violet floral pattern features the background displaying an ethereal scene as if it is taking place within a snow fall. Karina’s vocals are  impressive and captivating.

This first day of rehearsal close by Isea Çili from Albania and her song Mikja ime fëmijëri. Her performance takes place in front of  backdrop with colourful cartooned images of rainbows , water and paper aeroplanes  bringing back all the the innocent years of childhood.
