The Armenian national broadcaster, revealed today that the country will select its next Eurovision entry and representative through the national selection format of Depi Evratesil.
As time is moving closer to the core of national selection period, Armenia’s search for its Eurovision 2020 act in full swing. The national broadcaster has opted for a national selection this year and will be determining the country’s act via the 3rd edition of Depi Evratesil.
Rules and regulations of this year’s national selection have been released while the submission window for interested acts will be open from November 5until December 31. You can find the online application form here . Acts interested to represent Armenia must be either Armenian citizens or Armenians living abroad.
The Eurovision Story so Far
Armenia participated first time in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2004. The best results for the country came in 2008 with Sirusho and in 2014 with Aram Mp3 achieving both a 4th in the Grand Final. Since its debut hasn’t missed a contest except in 2012 when the country withdrew from the contest.
In its 13 years of participation Armenia has managed 7 top 10 placings establishing Armenia as one of the most successful countries in the contest. In 2018 the Depi Evratesil 2018 winner Sevak Khanagyan represented Armenia in Lisbon with his entry Qami. Depsite his impressive vocal performance he didn’t make it to the final.
This year AMPTV selected internallySrbukwho represented the country in Tel Aviv performing her song Walking Out, but failed to qualify to the Grand Final.
