Armenia: Rosa Linn will represent her country in Eurovision 2022 with the song ‘Snap’
It’s official! Rosa Linn will represent her country, Armenia in Eurovision 2022 with the song ‘Snap’.
Rosa Linn was selected by the Armenian national broadcaster, APMTV, to fly the flag at the big night of Eurovision 2022 in Turin.
Last’ year, due to the ongoing conflict in Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh) and the martial law implemented due to the war and the overall impact it had on the country, Armenia withdrew its participation. This year, however, APMTV opted for an internal selection and decided to send Rosa Linn to Turin wishing for the best.
The song is about the feelings that remain after a bad breakup. Sometimes, even if the relationship is over, the strong feeling and memories stay there to remember us the other person and creating in this way a suffering situation that is difficult to get over.
From the very first lyrics of the song we get the whole idea:
I can’t turn my head off
Wishin’ these memories would fade
They never do
Turns out people lie
They say, “Just snap your fingers”
As if it was really that easy for me to get over you
I just need time
The song “Snap” has been penned by herself along with Larzz Principato, Jeremy Dusoulet, Allie Crystal, Tamar Mardirossian, and Courtney Harrell. Moreover, behind the production are Alex Salibian , Ethan Schneiderman and Larzz Principato.
Let’s meet Rosa Linn
Rosa Kostandyan, aka Rosa Linn, is a 21-year-old music artist, songwriter and producer from Vanadzor, Armenia. Backed by punchy drums and polished synths, Rosa, shares the stories from her region in both English and Russian.
The first song that made her famous was the powerful track “KING,” alongside the ultra-talented electro-pop sensation KIIARA. Opening with a bilingual hook in both Russian and English, this song paints the picture of two different life experiences through powerful vocal performances from both artists against bouncing warm synths, heavy drums and a mesmerizing hook.
Rosa is also a member of Nvak Collective, which was co-founded by Tamar Kaprelian who represented Armenia at Eurovision 2015.
