Australia: SBS completes national final line up with last three acts

The Australian national broadcaster, SBS, completed the final line up of the country’s national final, Australia Decides, revealing the last three acts . Namely Ella Hooper, Tania Doko and Alfie Arcuri complete the list with the 10 Australian hopefuls for Eurovision 2019.

Ella Hooper 

Ella Hooper was one of the biggest names in australia;s rock scene during the 90’s as member of the group Killing Heidi, from which she withdrew in 2012. From then she has gone solo holding several concerts over the country, Her latest single entitled “To The Bone” was released in 2018.

Tania Doko

Tania Doko met great success in the 90’s with her hit Buses and Train, achieving a top 10 placing the Australia’s and New Zealand’s charts but in Sweden and the UK as well. Additionally, she was behind Australia’s JESC 2016 entry, We Are, which came 5th in the contest.  

Alfie Arcuri

Alfie Arcuri was the winner of  The Voice Australia in 2016 while his debut album entitled Zenith κυκλοφόρησε τον Ιούλιο του 2016, reach No5 on the  Australian Record Industry Association Charts.

Therefore the 10 Australian hopefuls to compete in Eurovision: Australia Decides are :

  • Courtney Act
  • Leea Nanos 
  • Aydan Calafiore
  • Ella Hooper

  • Alfie Arcuri

Eurovision – Australia Decides , Australia’s very first Eurovision national finais set to take place on Saturday 9 February at the Gold Coast Exhibition and Convention Centre on the Gold Coast, Queensland.

In 2018 SBS went internal for the fourth consecutive year and selected Jessica Mauboy to represent Australia at the Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon with her entry We got love. Despite a magnificent performance Australia placed 20th in the Grand Final in Portugal.
