Austria wins the Eurovision Song Contest 2014
As expected by many fans, Conchita Wurst won tonight the Eurovision Song Contest held in Copenhagen. Austria got 290 points in total and the runner up, Netherlands, scored 238 points. The third position was for Swedish Sanna Nielsen, who got 218 points.
Austria’s last victory was in 1966, 48 years ago, with Udo Jürgens. Tonight’s winner didn’t take part in Eurovision 2006 and 2008 to 2010, maybe tired of getting poor results. However, tonight with almost 300 points, austrians can take revenge of those years.
Will Vienna host the 60th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest? We’ll know that in a few months!
