Azerbaijan: Aisel flies to London to record her song
Azerbaijan was among the first countries to announce this year’s national representative at ESC. This year, as we know, young jazz singer Aazel will travel with the Azerbaijani flag in Lisbon. Based on the direct assignment option, Azerbaijan has many prospect of success.
According to information provided by INFE Azerbaijan, Aisel is traveling to London to prepare her entry to Eurovision. This journey will conclude the recording of the song by which the young singer will represent her country in the contest. The song, the video clip and the stage perfomance will be ready by the end of February.
A few words about Aisel
Aisel was born in Baku in 1989 and she dealt with music from a very young age as her whole family was musicians. We would say that the songs she performs are jazz and herself is a composer and singer. She has participated in many jazz events such as the Caspian Jazz & Blues Festival, the Baku International Jazz Festival, the MuzEnergo Festival of Music Improvisation and the Caucasus Jazz Festival.
Azerbaijan at Eurovision
Having participated only ten times in the contest, we could say that although Azerbaijan has participated a few times, it has made very good performances in the contest (six out of ten missions have been in top 10 and 2011 it achieved its first win). This year, Azerbaijan will participate in the contest for the eleventh consecutive year with Aisel. Last year, the country was represented by Dihaj with Skeletons, which made a relatively modest performance in the contest (14th in the final ranking).
