Azerbaijan: Eurovision 2019 act and entry to be unveiled in March 8
Through a short teaser the national broadcaster of Azerbaijan, iTV, has revealed that its Eurovision 2019 act and entry will be revealed on March 8.
It s time for the Land of fire to reveal its Eurovision entry, and as iTV has already notified us throught a 20 sec teaser, that time is March 8. This day we will find out which act will represent the country and the entry he will be performing on stage in Tel Aviv.
In the following short in length teaser there is no indication of who the representative is but at the end of it the phrase She is a killer is a hint for the song title .
Therefore in three days we will find out whether all the rumors and reports on the act’s name will be confirmed or we’ll see a name surprise .
Azerbaijan in Eurovision
Since its debut at the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 in Belgrade Azerbaijan has competed every year, having its biggest success in 2011. Only after 4 years of competing at Eurovision, Azerbaijan managed to win the contest with Eldar and Nikki performing “Running Scared”. As a result, the Eurovision Song Contest was held in Baku for the very first time in 2012.
Last year the broadcaster Ictimai internally selected Aisel as their representative in Lisbon. It marked the very first time Azerbaijan did not participate in a Eurovision final since their debut in 2008, as Aisel’s entry “X my Heart”, composed by Dimitris Kontopoulos and staged by Fokas Evangelinos, finished 11th in the first semi-final with 94 points.
