The Land of fire will not continue this year taking part in Junior Eurovision. Azerbaijan withdraws from this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
According to INFE Azerbaijan , the country’s national broadcaster , ITV , will not be participating in the 2019 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. The broadcaster did not explain the reason of their withdrawal. Azerbaijan had returned to the contest last year after 5 years of absence . Fidan Huseynova represented the country with her song I Wanna Be Like You which finished 16th.
Azerbaijan is the second nation that decided to withdraw from this year’s Junior Eurovision after Israel which decided too not to take part in this year’s edition in Poland.

Up to date only Georgia has selected Giorgi Rostiashvili as its representative after winning TV-1’s show of Ranina. After Azerbaijan’s withdrawal the confirmed participating countries are 18. These are:

After Roksana Węgiel’s victory for Poland at the 2018 contest in Minsk with her entry “Anyone I Want To Be” and TVP winning the bid to host this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest, Gliwice-Silesia has been chosen as the Host City by TVP after reviewing a row of cities and venues across the country.
