Basim to represent the host country with Cliché love song
Anis Basim Moujahid, a 21 years old danish singer, will have the honor to represent Denmark in the next Eurovision Song Contest in May. He will sing Cliché love song, a catchy dance song, with easy lyrics and good vibes, where Basim not only sings but also dances in an elaborated choreography. The whole act could remind the style of the american singer Bruno Mars.
Basim became famous as a 15 years old boy in the Danish version of The X Factor in 2008 where he reached the quarter finals. After that, he published two albums: Alt det jeg ville have sagt in 2008 and Befri dig selv. Following the release of the CDs he took part in the danish edition of Dancing with the stars, where he became even more popular.
Basim was favorite among the jury and the televoting in this year’s Dansk Melodi Grand Prix and got the victory beating very strong rivals such as Bryan Rice , Sonny or Emilie Moldow.
This year there were three superfinalists in DMGP. The other two artists were Rebekka Thornbech with Your lies and Natasha Bessez with Wanna be loved. The winning song got 30 points from jury and tele voting, while the other two songs scored only 15 each.
