The National Broadcaster of Bulgaria, BNT, preliminary confirmed its participation in the next Eurovision Song Contest, in Kyiv, Ukraine.

However this provisionally confirmation is not permanent, since the broadcaster is awaiting for the BNT’s Board approval, which must take place before October 10th 2016 in order not to face a financial penalty.


Bulgaria debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005 with the song Lorraine performed by the boy band Kaffe.

The country’s best result was achieved this year, in Stockholm’s Globen Arena, with Poli Genova‘s If Love was a Crime which ended up in 4th place in the Grand Final.
