Conchita Wurst interviewed by INFE Azerbaijan

Last december, our fellow members of INFE Azerbaijan interviewed the Austrian hopeful for Eurovision 2014, Conchita Wurst.

Conchita took part in the 2012 Austrian preselection and she was runner-up. Since Austria was back in the contest in 2011, ORF has used a national final to choose their representatives. However and maybe due to the poor results in 2012 and 2013, the national TV station went this year for an internal decision. The artist chosen was Conchita Wurst.

But who is behind Conchita Wurst?

Tom Neuwirth is 24 and was runner up in the ORF show Starmania 2006. The winner of that show was Nadine Beiler, the austrian representative in 2013. He was also member of the boyband Jetzt anders! In 2011 he reappeared as Conchita Wurst to take part in the show Die große Chance. As we said above, in 2012 she tried to represent her country in Eurovision 2012, but she ended up second after the band Trackshittaz.
