Croatia: Dora 2019 national final to be held on February 16
The Croatian national broadcaster , HRT, held today a special press conference during which it confirmed that place and date of the country Eurovision national final, Dora 2019.
HRT comfirmed that the country’s national final, Dora 2019 is to take place in the city of Opatija on February 16. Dora 2019 will be held in the Sports Hall Marino Cvetković, while organizers of the event will be the city of Opatija and Hotel Millennium. Before the final show’s night two more events are set to take place . The full schedule includes the following events:
- 1st night: Chansons and Optaija Serenades with the Symphony Orchestra
- 2nd night : Dora classics
- 3rd night: Competing Entries for Dora 2019 national final
Some of the country’s past rerpesentatives will attend the shows such as , Franka (2018), Jacques Houdek (2017), Tony Cetinski (1994), Kraljevi ulice (2008) and members of the femal group Feminnem (Bosnia Herzegovina 2005 and Croatia 2010)
The Eurovision Story So Far
Croatia debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1993 with the group Put and their entry Don’t ever cry. The Balkan country’s best results in the competition were scroed in 1996 (Maja Blagdan) and 1999 (Doris Dragovic), when it achieved a 4th placing in the Grand Final.
In 2018 Croatia selected internally Franka Batelic to represent the country in Lisbon with her song Crazy. Despite her dynamic performance she failed to qualify to the Grand Final.
