Croatia: My Friend for Houdek
Today, HRT, the National Broadcaster of Croatia, confirmed that Houdek will perform the song “My Friend” this May in Kiev.
Speaking of his entry for the competition, Houdek revealed:
<<Like each of the songs so far as well as Eurovision itself, I want the people to extend a sense of community, friendship and respect for diversity. Think of your friends, make them happy with a photograph that will be devoted to them, show them how much they mean to you and make new friendships. Let this song and the campaign #beMyFriend celebrate friendship, the joy of life and the priceless treasure that is based on love, trust and reciprocal appreciation of the message>>.
All we found out today about the Croatian song was just the title. We still have to wait a few weeks in order to listen to it.
Željko Mesar, Head of the Croatian Delegation stated about this year’s entry:
<<For now, the song will remain a surprise. At this point, let’s just say it will be very interesting, Eurovision-y, and its structure and complexity is extremely thought-provoking. We are confident it will arouse interest>>.
