Cyprus: CyBC approaches Kalomira for Eurovision 2021

The Greek Eurovision 2008 representative , Kalomira, has revealed that  the Cypriot national broadcaster has approached her in order to discuss her potential comeback in Eurovision 2021 with Cyprus.

During her interview to Songfestival.be the Greek act that represented Greece in Eurovision 2008 with her song Secret Combination, confirmed that the Cypriot broadcaster had came in touch with her in order to talk on a Eurovision 2021 participation.

Answering to Songfestival.be Kalomira said about her talks with CyBC:

Yes, it is something we are talking about . Of course you never know. It can be talked about, but not continue. I don’t know if it’s the quarantine, but I have to get out of the house. I am in the mood  to go to the Eurovision Song Contest! My entourage has contacted the Cypriot broadcaster, so it remains to be seen how everything turns out.

Further on commenting on how strange will it be to go with Cyprus instead of Greece she said:

At first I thought it was strange, but Tamta and Eleni Foureira have made me open to doing it. The countries have a strong bond, so I don’t think the Greeks would blame me.

The Greek-American act also revealed that in 2020 she received an invitation of interest by the Greek broadcaster but no talks were made further on. In addtion she stated that her will was to comeback in 2018 as it was the 10 year anniversary from her first participation.
