Cyprus: Listen to “Fuego”, Eleni Foureira’s entry for Lisbon
Many fans were expecting, the Cypriot entry to be released as the country has given hints for something great for the 63th Eurovision Contest. Eleni Foureira‘s choice as Cyprus’ representative was announced on 31st of January by the country’s national broadcaster, CyBC ,while it had already been revealed that the title of the Cypriot song is Fuego. CyBC had announced in September 2017 that they had selected the Greek Swedish composer Alex Papaconstantinou to compose the Cypriot entry.
Although the act to represent the country was initially to be selected through a national final, the Cypriot broadcaster later announced that they would internally select both the artist and song, concluding eventually in the singer Eleni Foureira, who was officially announced on January 31.
Tonight the Cypriot broadcaster released “Fuego” and its official video clip during its evening’s News program .Listen to the country’s ESC2018 as follwowing:
THE STORY SO FAR
Cyprus has been participating in Eurovision Song Contest since 1981. This year’s entry will be the 35th participation in the Eurovision Song Contest, which has never won until now. Three times the country has achieved a 5th placing (1982, 1997, 2004) which were its best results. The last three years Cyprus counts successive presence in the Grand Final. Cyprus was represented by Hovig last year with the song Gravity which finished in 21th place.
