Cyprus: Sandro and ALPHACAST drop the new track “Never Let You Down”
Sandro, the Cypriot Eurovision 2020 representative, has released in collaboraton with ALPHACAST a brand new single titled “Never let you down” .
Although Sandro’s Eurovision 2020 journey remained incomplete after this year’s cancellation, his journey in the music scene continues with a brand new song titled “Never Let you down” . The song was reported in the past months as one of Sandro’s candidate entries for his Eurovision 2020 participation. The song is a result of the collaboration between Sandro and ALPHACAST.
Who are ALPHACAST?
Alphacast is a German producer and DJ duo consisted of Niklas Straub and Liam Heinze. The duo combines emotional vocals and catchy hooks with festival-ready Future Bass Pop. Starting in 2015 with a Bigroom and Progressive House inspired music style , they soon developed their distinctive sound and released their first track in 2018. In 2019 they signed at the german dance label WEPLAY , where they dropped their second and third track, Rookie and Done with U. In their live shows, including this year’s New Horizons Festival, the duo presents a mix of several electronic music genres with live drum elements .
The song “Never Let You Down”
The song is composed: Liam Heinze& Niklas Straub (ALPHACAST) alongside with Markus Videsätter and Max Berga. Behind the lyrics are Markus Videsätter and Max Berga .
The new single is a modern pop song which talks about a second chance in a relationship that has gone wrong. Through its lyrics Sandro asks for one more chance to reverse things, no matter what it takes promising not to let down his loved one.

ABOUT SANDRO
Sandro was internally selected by CyBC to represent Cyprus at the 65th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. Alessandro Rütten (born 4 October 1996), better known as Sandro Nicolas, is a German singer of Greek and American descent. He will represent Cyprus in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. Sandro was born in Heinsberg to a Greek mother and an American father. He was raised in Germany, where he started his career in music.
In 2015, he auditioned for the talent show Das Supertalent (the German adaptation of the Got Talent franchise). In 2018, he participated in season 8 of The Voice of Germany . He performed Shawn Mendes’ “In My Blood” in the Blind Auditions, and all four coaches turned for him. He was eliminated in the Sing Off round.In 2019, Sandro represented the United States in the New Wave competition in Sochi, Russia and finished in 6th place.
Sandro in Eurovision 2020
On 29 November 2019, Cypriot broadcaster CyBC revealed that Sandro will represent Cyprus in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam, Netherlands. A few months later, on March 6,2020 the Cypriot ESC 2020 hopeful released his Eurovision 2020 entry titled “Running”.
Unfortunately the young talented act didn’t make it to the Eurovision stage as this year’s edition was cancelled duo to the coronavirus outbreak leaving is Eurovision 2020 journey incomplete. The Cypriot broadcaster hasn’t yet cleared out if it will continue with Sandro in next year’s contest or will opt for new selection.
