The Czech Republic, as we all know, was represented in the 63rd Eurovision Song Contest by Mikolas Josef with the song “Lie to me”, where it won the 6th place with 281 points. Mikolas was selected through the Czech national process, Eurovision Song CZ.
Since the country’s return to the competition in 2015, it was the first time that the national selection process was opted with the winner Josef to be chosen and the country’s success this year, since it was the second time the country reached the final and even finishes in such a good position, its best so far, did not let the decision-makers of public broadcaster leave unrelenting.
Jan Bors, the head of the Czech Rep. delegation, revealed that he would like Eurovision Song CZ to be retained as a Czech national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest.
In an interview to eurocontest.cz, he stated that Česká Televize, the Czech national broadcaster, will have to continue the national selection and that several Czech artists have already begun working for their entries for the 2019 selection.
Of course, Česká televize has not yet confirmed whether or not to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2019, although it is expected to be present in Israel.
