Czech Republic: CT will take part in Eurovision 2022
Checz’s national broadcaster, CT, has confirmed that it will take part in next year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Italy.
CT has officially confirmed to ESCToday that the country will be present at the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Italy next year.
The Czech national broadcaster, CT, has adopted a selection procedure for this year’s competition, according to which the country will select its representative for Eurovision 2022. The broadcaster has already made an open call to singers and composers who wish to represent the country in the competition and send their entries.
The application process will start no later than September 17, 2021 and those interested will be able to submit their songs by September 30, 2021. Applicants must be Czech citizens, they can submit more than one song without restriction in the genre of music as well as in language.
In addition, the Czech broadcaster said that in the event that the country finally decides not to participate in the competition, the entire selection process will be canceled.
Czech Republic in Eurovision
Czech Republic has been taking part in the Eurovision Song contest since 2007 and has not won the competition to date.
Best placing so far was in 2018 with Mikolas Josef with his song “Lie to me” which finished 6th in the final.
This year represented by Benny Cristo who sang “Omaga” but failed to qualify for the final, finishing 15th in the second semi-final with 23 points.
