Czech Republic: Lake Malawi release official video for “Friend Of A Friend”
Lake Malawi who will represent the Czech Republic at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 have released the official video for their entry “Friend Of A Friend”. The music video was directed by Jordan Háj & Givinar Kříž and filmed at the end of February in Prague.
Lake Malawi are a Czech indie-pop band made up of Albert Černý (lead vocal, guitar), Jeroným Šubrt (bass and keys), Antonín Hrabal (drums) and Pavel Palát (drums). The band, whose name is inspired by a Bon Iver song, was founded in 2013 by lead singer Albert Černý, who rose to fame when he was 15 years old and won three Andel awards, the Czech equivalent of the Grammies, with his former band called Charlie Straight.
End of Januray the band Lake Malawi won the online national format “Eurovision CZ 2019” receiving the most votes from a combination of public vote and international jury votes including several former Eurovision participants. Lake Malawi will perform their entry “Friend Of A Friend” in the first half of the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 on May 14.
