Czech Republic: Lake Malawi to Tel Aviv
At a special press conference, Česká televize (ČT) announced Lake Malawi as their representative in Tel Aviv as the Czech broadcaster revealed the overall results of the international jury and the public votes.
Daily at 18:00 CET and 20:00 CET the jury votes were progressively revealed throughout the past week as the 10 jurors consisting of former Eurovision acts announced their votes by awarding their 12 points to their favourite national final candidate. The overview of the 10 sets of 12 points by the international jury down below shows that Lake Malawi received the most 12 points from the jury with Barbora Mochowa coming second. In the combined jury votes Lake Malawi joint first in the jury vote with fellow contestant Barbora Mochowa:
- Cesár Sampson (Austria) – 12 points to Barbora Mochowa
- Alma (France) – 12 points to Barbora Mochowa
- ZiBBZ (Switzerland) – 12 points to Barbora Mochowa
- AWS (Hungary) – 12 points to Andrea Holá
- Rasmussen (Denmark) – 12 points to Barbora Mochowa
- Elina Nechayeva (Estonia) – 12 points to Lake Malawi
- Ari Ólafsson (Icelnad) – 12 points to Lake Malawi
- Ira Losco (Malta) – 12 points to Lake Malawi
- Ryan O’Shaughnessy (Ireland) – 12 points to Lake Malawi
- JOWST (Norway) – 12 points to Lake Malawi
In the public app vote, however, Jakub Ondra’s “Space Sushi” was in the lead receiving the public’s 12 points, whereas Lake Malawi received the second highest vote. The combination of all jury votes and the public vote determined Lake Malawi as the winners of “Eurovision Song CZ 2019”:

- Jakub Ondra – “Space Sushi”: 6 + 12 points = 18 points
- Pamela Rabbit – “Easy To Believe”: 10 + 8 points = 18 points
- Barbora Mochowa – “True Colors “: 12 + 6 points = 18 points
- Andrea Holá – “Give Me A Hint”: 8 + 4 points = 12 points
- Tomáš Boček – “Don’t Know Why”: 6 + 3 points = 9 points
- Jara Vymer – “On My Knees”: 3 + 2 points = 5 points
- Hana Barbara – “Poslední slova tobě”: 4 + 1 points = 5 points
The indie-pop band Lake Malawi was founded in 2013 and consists of lead singer Albert Černý, Jeroným Šubrt (bass and keys), Antonín Hrabal (drums) and Pavel Palát (drums).
