Demy will represent Greece at 2018 New Wave Festival

From September 4 to September 9, 2018, the New Wave Festival will take place in Russia. Greece will be represented by Demy, who represented the country at Eurovision Song Contest in 2017, with “This Is Love”.

Russia’s qualifying round was held on April 14, while more than 9,000 applications were submitted.

More than 150 musicians from different countries took part in the semifinals. Each of them is a talented person. In the qualifing rounds, artists could interpret both world successes and songs of their own composition.

The jury of the New Wave Festival consist of the artist, composer and producer Philip Kirkorov, the director of the competition Alexander Revzin, the music producer of the contest Anastasiya Mukhina and the chairman of the jury and artist,omposer and producer,as well  Igor Krutoy.

The New Wave Festival is the largest music festival in Eastern Europe with television broadcasting at the prime time of the largest TV networks of the former Soviet Union. It consists of 3 competitive nights. The artists performs a great success from their country, an international hit and a new song. They are rated separately each night and the results are added at the end.

The new song with which Demy will compete will be composed  by Dimitris Kontopoulos.

Several artists have begun their carrer from this festival such as Sergey Lazarev (he won in 2002 as a member of the duo Smash, while Dima Bilan was the fourth), Jamala (won in 2009) ,Tina Karol (where in 2005 she was 2nd ) and several others.

On the other hand, some of the biggest names of the global music industry have been featured as guest, including Sting, Ricky Martin, Steve Wonder, Robbie Williams and others.
