Denmark: DR starts the submission period for Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2022

Denmark’s national broadcaster, DR, has launched the process for the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix, the show that will determine the country’s representative for Eurovision 2022.

DR has opened the sumbission window for the next Danish national final and published the rules and regulations for the 2022 edition of the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix. 

Composers and lyricists wishing to represent Denamrk at the Eurovision Song Contest in Italy should send an email here . The songs must be uploaded before October 29, 2021, at 12.00 and then will be heard by a professional jury set up by DR and will be judged for possible participation in the Danish Melody Grand Prix 2022.

Once the songs to be selected for the Danish Melody Grand Prix 2022 have been selected, DR will contact the creators of the selected songs and publish them on dr.dk/grandprix.

One of the performers of the song must be a Danish citizen or have similar power to Denmark. (Residence in Denmark for a number of years, married or related to a Dane or similar). Composers and lyricists can contribute multiple contributions. There are no restrictions on the language of the song.

The Danish national final will include a total of 8 songs and will take place on Saturday 5 March 2022.

Denmark in Eurovision

Denmark has been taking part in the Eurovision Song contest since 1957 and has won the contest three times, in 1963 with Grethe & Jorgen Ingmann , 2000 with Olsen Brothers and 2013 with Emmelie de Forest.

This year represented by the duo Fyr & Flamme who sang “Øve os på hinanden” but failed to qualify for the final, finishing 11th in the second semi-final with 89 points.
