Denmark: Listen to the 10 Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2019 entries

The Dannish national, DR, through a special press conference today at the DR’s Concert Hall in Conpenhagen revealed the 10 competing acts of the country’s national final, Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2019.

DMGP 2019 hosts, Kristian Gintberg and Johannes Nymark, presented to us the country’s 10 hopefuls and the competing entries of the national final

The 10 contestants that will battle for the ticket to Tel Aviv are:

  1. Simone Emilie – Anywhere
  2. Jasmin Gabay – Kiss Like This
  3. Rasmus Faartoft – Hold My Breath
  4. Marie Isabell – Dancing with You in My Heart
  5. Sigmund – Say My Name
  6. Humørekspressen – Dronning af baren
  7. July & Nina – League of Light
  8. Teit Samsø – Step It Up
  9. Leonora – Love Is Forever
  10. Leeloo – That Vibe

Among them we see Jasmin Gabay who has participated in Eurovision as a backing vocalist of Anja  in 2017, with the song Where I Am. You can hear the candidate songs of this year’s national final on DR’s DMGP 2019 site

The Dannish national final is set to take place at the Boxen Arena in Herning on February. The show will be aired on DR 1 at 20:00 CET. 

The Eurovision Story So Far

Denmark made it first appearance in the Eurovision family in 1957 and has been crowned winner three times: In 1963 with Grethe & Jorgen Ingmann and the song Dansevise,  in 2000 with Olsen Brothers  and their entry  Fly on the wings of love and  in 2013 with Emmelie de Forest and her song Only teardrops. The country apart from hosting the Contest each year after its victories , has hosted the special show tribute to the 50th Eurovision anniversary in 2005. In 2018 Denmark was represent by Rasmussen who with Higher ground, giving a Viking touch in the latest contest in Lisbon, and finished in the 9th place of the Grand Final.
