Eurovision 2019-EBU: “Do not book your flights for Eurovision 2019 yet”
With an enigmatic statement on its Instagram official account of the contest, EBU advises all interested parties who want to attend the next Eurovision, not to book their air tickets, but to wait for official announcements both on dates and on a city that will host the next contest, from the official social media of the event.
This announcement comes after many reports, mainly from Israel, saying Eurovision 2019 will be held in Jerusalem on 21, 23 and 25 May. Moreover, both Netta at the time of her coronation as a winner in Lisbon, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as well as other Israeli officials, announced Jerusalem as the venue for Eurovision 2019.
This announcement on behalf of EBU is being made to stop the chaos that began from a portion of the Israeli media for certain dates that may not be valid (EU elections will be held on 26 May in all EU member states, so May 25 looks like unlikely under this angle) or there are serious objections and fears on the part of the EBU for the security provided by Jerusalem as a city and are still in negotiations with Israeli public broadcaster to conduct the competition in one another city (i.g. Tel Aviv). Whatever happens, we will all be restrained and wait for the official announcements.
