According to refoprts from Channel 14, which is one fo the four most popular channels in Israel, the major of Tel Aviv is making ambitioned plans for the Eurovision Village 2019. The place that welcomes every year thousands of fans to experience the Eurovision spirit in various ways is going to be something really special next year.
Taking into account that access to tickets of the Eurovision shows won’t be an easy case for most of the fans, the municipality of Tel Aviv is planning to balance that lack of tickets with numerous happenings including music, local kitchen and the presence of Eurovsion stage giving the rythm at the Eurovision Villade during Eurovision week.. And the lyrics “The King of fun”.. might have been only lyrics of the Israel ESC 2015 entry of Nadav Guedj’s, Golden Boy, now seem to become part of real life .
Charles Clore Park which is located in the southeastern coastline of Tel Aviv will be the space to host all the above events. Having opened back in 1974 the park was renovated in 2007 and in latest years has been hostin the Tel Aviv Pride parties whilst it’s known for its food market.
According to the plans mentioned, there is an intention to expand the park 30% more, while the Eurovision Village will include seven themed zones among which one will concern local food, another one sports and yoga , a third one DJs who will play their music and many other topics. Of course in these plans the Eurovision stars can be left out, so there will be a main music stage for all past Israeli winners will be able to perfroms. Name as Izhar Cohen, Gali Atari, Dana International and of course Netta will shine once more before the fans.
Although in initial plans officials were looking into changing the dates of the Pride and bringing it closer to Eurovision week but eventually wasn’t possible. Follwing that development it was decided to combine the Eurovillage activity with another local event the White Night. White nights will include several costal concerts, parties and tours all over the city. The hosts will collaborate with the participating countries while 4 stages will be set all over the city one for each country .
Additionally , in order not to have any conflict with the law forbidding at night time parties in urban open areas, the city will enact special legislation that will allow parties to go all night long during Eurovision week.
The total cost of the Eurovision Village project is expected to reach the amount of 1,2 million euros , from which a 20% will be covered by from the Muncipality and the rest from sponsors. On the other had the cost of the White nights event will need an amount of 500.000 euro amount that will be secured through a collaboration with the countries’ embassies.
