Finland: 18 songs for the final.
The Finnish national broadcaster, YLE, revealed that there will be 18 songs competing in UMK 15, the national final for the country’s Eurovision Song Contest entry.
Via it’s Instagram account the Finnish broadcaster posted 18 images featuring silhouetted artists with lyrics. From the 18 songs nine will be in Finnish, eight will be in English and one in Spanish. On January 13 the broadcaster will present the acts and their entries, just some days before the first show takes place on February 7. The broastcaster will elaborate on the details of the whole procedure of the Finnish selection in the future press conference. At the moment YLE has released the official trailer of UMK 15.
In last year’s Eurovision Song Contest Finland was represented by the band Softengine and their entry Something Better which managed to qualify to the Grand Final where it achieved Finland’s best placing after the Finnish victory in 2006 , winning 72 points and the 11th place.
