Georgia: GBP confirms participation in Eurovision 2019

The Georgian national broadcaster, GPB has confimred that Georgia will participate at the forthcoming 2019 Eurovision Song Song Contest in Israel.

One country after another are joining the party next May in Israel ! This time it’s Tbilisi calling and the country’s national broadcaster confirmed that it will be present in Israel for Eurovision 2019. However the national channel hasn’t revealed yet which formula will it use to determine the next Eurovision act and entry.

The Eurovision Story so far

Georgia participated first time in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 with Sopho Khalvashi performing Visionary dream . In its 11 times of participation it hasn’t achieved to win the contest and has missed only one contest(2009) since its debut . The country’s best results were in Oslo (2010) and Dusseldorf (2011) when it finished 9th in the Grand Final.

In 2018 the Ethno Jazz Band Iriao were internally selected to represent the country in Lisbon with their entry For you. For a second year in a row Georgia failed to qualify to the grand final.
