Georgia: Georgian Idol moves on to its 2nd show tonight
This is Tbilisi calling as the second show of the Georgian Idol 2019, through which Georgia will select its Eurovision 2020 act will be broadcasted tonight in Georgia.
For as second successive year the Georgian national broadcaster, will be selecting the country’s Eurovision 2020 through the Georgian Idol tlent show. The final winner of the show will earn the right to travel to Rotterdam next May and defend the national colors. The No 2 show can be watched at 19:00 CET (22:00 local time) on GPB 1 or GPB webstream
The show features a four member jury that comments on the acts’ performances and determined whether they move on to the next stage.The jury is made up by : Tinatin Berdzenishvili, David Evgenidze, Natia Todua and David Aladashvili.
The Eurovision story so far
Georgia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest first time in 2007 with Sopho Khalvashi and her song Visionary dream . Since then it has competed 12 times missing out only the 2009 edition of the contest, when they chose to withdraw. Its best results were scored in Oslo with Sofia Nizharadze and her song Shine(2010) and Dusseldorf with Eldrine and the entry One More Day (2011) when both achieved a 9th placing in the Grand Final. In 2018 the Ethno Jazz Band Iriao were internally selected to represent the country in Lisbon with their entry For you. For a second year in a row Georgia failed to qualify to the grand final.
In 2019 Georgian Idol 2019 winner ,Oto Nemsadze represented the country in Tel Aviv last May performing the song “Keep on going”, but failed to qualify to the final. Lets remember Oto’s performance this year at the Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv:
