Georgia: Ranina semi finalists determined with the eighth show completed

Ranina, the show via which Georgia will select its next JESC 2020 representative has completed its eighth show with the 8th set of results taking their place on the overall scoreboard. 

The show includes four thematic rounds with two episodes for each round ( 5 acts in each episode). In all round a three membered jury will assess the 10 candidates while in each thematic round there will be a different jury. The five acts that receive the most points during these 8 heats will qualify to the semi final round. From the 5 semi finalists three acts will pass to the grand final show, from which one will be selected to represent Georgia at Junior Eurovision 2020.

During the 8th show which marks the second episode of the 4th thematic round,  the second group of five contestants took the stage once again to perform songs influenced by the theme ‘World Musicals’. The results once the five acts performed on stage came out as following:

Once the 5 acts performed on stage and results after the judges points turned out like following:

  • Veronika Shamugia ( 120 points :40-40-40)
  • Marita Khvedelidze ( 119 points: 40-40-39) 
  • Sandra Gadelia  (117 points : 40-39-38 )
  • Shio Kavsadze ( 117 points : 40-39- 38) 
  • Nikoloz Maghradze ( 113 points : 38-38 -37) 

As all acts have completed their four peroformances over the eight shows the 5 acts with the highest points won the ticket to the semi finals. Thus the five acts that will continue into the semi finals are: 

  1. Rati Gelovani
  2. Sandra Gadelia
  3. Marita Khvedelidze
  4. Shio Kavsadze
  5. Nia Khinichkashvili

From these acts three acts will advance to the final in which the next Georgian Junior Eurovision 2020 rerpesentative will be selected.
