Georgia: Tornike Kipiani to fly the flag in Rotterdam!
Georgia has decided! The Georgian Idol , the talent show through which the country is selecting its Eurovision act, has reached its end declaring as the next Georgian Eurovision representative Tornike Kipiani .
After several auditions and live shows the act that topped the live shows’ results for 5 successive weeks Tornike Kipiani, was placed once again first by the televoting and won the golden ticket to Rotterdam.
The winner was determined exclusive by televoting. Tornike got 33.82% of the votes, leaving in second place Barbara Samkharadze with 31.18% of the votes. The song though Tornike will perform on the Rotterdm Ahoy stage will ne internally selected.

A few words about Tornike Kipiani
Tornike Kipiani was born on December 11, 1987 in Tbilisi. He came to fame after winning the first season of X Factor Georgia back in 2014 where he had as mentor Tamta the Cypriot representative in 2019. However he is no stranger to the Eurovision fans , as he had participated in the Georgian national final in 2017 with the song You are my sunshine, and finished 23rd out of 25 entries.
The Eurovision Story so far
Georgia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest first time in 2007 with Sopho Khalvashi and her song Visionary dream . Since then it has competed 12 times missing out only the 2009 edition of the contest, when they chose to withdraw. Its best results were scored in Oslo with Sofia Nizharadze and her song Shine (2010) and in Dusseldorf with Eldrine and the entry One More Day (2011), when both achieved a 9th placing in the Grand Final. In 2018 the Ethno Jazz Band Iriao were internally selected to represent the country in Lisbon with their entry For you.
In Eurovision 2019, Georgian Idol’s winner, Oto Nemsadze represented the country with his song Sul tsin iare without achieving to qualify to the grand final. Lets remember Oto’s performance this year at the Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv:
