Germany: Michael Schulte and “You Let Me Walk Alone” will fly to Lisbon

The “Unser Lied für Lissabon” (A Song for Lisbon) show finished a few minutes ago from Studio Berlin Adlershof in Berlin. Michael Schulte was the final winner and he will travel to Lisbon in May trying to bring Germany back on the road of success.

The following six finalists competed in tonight’s final:

  • Ivy Quainoo – House on fire
  • Michael Schulte – You Let Me Walk Alone
  • Natia Todua – My Own Way
  • Ryk – You and I
  • voXXclub – I mog Di so
  • Xavier Darcy – Jonah

A few word about the songs:

  • Natia Todua – My Own Way (7/10)

Natia was the first to get on stage. Born in Tbilisi, Georgia, and just 21 years old, she perfomed with confidence. The winner of the German Voice wearing a white dress really uprooted the audience, though alone on stage with two vocals on the side.

  • Ryk – You and I (10/10)

Ryk was the next to perform on stage.A wonderful ballad from a wonderful voice. Piano, cello, violins and a ballerina dancing on the piano accompanied Ryk. Prolonged applause for a magical interpretation.

  • voXXclub – I mog Di so (8,5/10)

Next on stage, five boys from Germany who form the group voXXclub. They began to present their really uplifting and joyful song on platforms and at the end of the song they went  down to the audience and sang with them. Second song with strong applause.

  • Xavier Darcy – Jonah (6,5/10)

Xavier was the next contestant and sang a country-style song with a passionate company by his guitar.

  • Ivy Quainoo – House on fire (8/10)

25-year-old Ivey actually set fire not only at home but also in the studio. Very strong performance, but something was actually missing.

  • Michael Schulte – You Let Me Walk Alone (9.5/10)

The last contestant sang a song about his father. Melodic, powerful touching and  uniquely performed by Michael. The third song with a strong applause.

Interval act
The surprise of the night was 18-year-old Mike Singer who climbed the stage during the public vote to deliver the song “Deja Vu”.

The voting
The voting, which took place at the same time for the Eurovision Panel, included  the International Jury votes and the audience’s votes, giving both to Michael Schulte the golden ticket to Lisbon. Below, the analytical voting table follows:
