Greece: Helena Paparizou releases new single “Kati skotino”; Her latest thoughts on Eurovision
Helena Paparizou, the number one diva of pop in Greece the last 15 years and two times the country’s Eurovision act released here new single entitled “Kati Skotino” (Something Dark)
The Greek Diva’s new single is a dynamic ballad song which talks about a relationship that has came to an end, but as love is always above logic , it always manages to find the good even in Something dark . Paparizou’s record label press release regarding the song’s lyrics mentions the following:
Every person has a dark side in his life. But a relationship can not work when there is “Something dark” between the couple, and so there will forever be the danger of total wear on that bridge that unites their love
The official video clip was shot in Athens two weeks ago under the directing guidlines of Alex Konstantinidis and includes as a guest the Israeli male model Shahar Kaikov. Enjoy Elena’s new song in the following official music video:
Helena and Eurovision
The Greek act has represented Greece twice in the Eurovision Song Contest , in 2001 as member of Antique and their Die for you (3rd place) and back in 2005 in Kiev with My number one which brought the trophy to Greece. In 2014 she competed in the Swedish national selection of Melodifestivalen with her entry Survivor and came 4th.
Helena during her recent interview to Ethnos TV , where she talked about various aspects of her personal life and her experience as a judge at The Voice couldn’t leave out Eurovision. Responding to a question of a potential third Eurovision comeback she didn’t hide her thoughts:
“Eurovision isn’t over for me, and a third participation in the future is still in my mind”
Refering to the leaked demo of Fuego which was proposed to her intially by the Cypriot broadcaster but eventually ended up for Eleni Foureira and came 2nd in Lisbon , she stated:
“It was bad that the demo leaked. It wasn’t right. We all make many demos that later are performed by other artists. It’s not nice either for me or Eleni. She was brilliant, and should have won this years Eurovision”.
This period Helena apart from her new work continues with her 3rd consecutive participation as a jury member on The Voice of Greece show, together with Sakis Rouvas, Panos Mouzourakis and Kostis Maraveyas. Lets remember her winning performance that gave Greece its one and only victory in the contest.
