Greece: Watch part of Areti Ketime’s Song rehearsal for the National Final

Spicy record label, Areti Ketime’s record company and one of the three labels which have submitted entries for the ESC 2018 national final in Greece, revealed to the public earlier today a video with a small excerpt from Areti’s rehearsal through a press release.

The entire press release stated: 

“Areti Katime is singing to us “Don’t  forget the sun” or “Do not forget the sun” , claiming Greece’s representation in the Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Lisbon in May 2018.

A special song full of traditional elements and Greek soundtrack that travels you from the very first listening.The kind of song “Do not Forget The Sun” according to the creator – lyrics and music – Dimitris Karras is a “stitch in three” which is led by Areti Ketime’s zither and a chorus in English.

The message of Areti  through her song is distinct and optimistic:

“Everything can start again from the beginning”

On Thursday, February 22, 2018, the Greek Final will be held to mark the song that will travel to Lisbon.

“Do not Forget the Sun” from Areti Ketme, Dimitris Karras and Spicy Music.

Few words about Areti…

The artist Areti Ketime, has made her own distinct and upward course in the music of the country.As a genuine representative of the traditional song ,she  managed to stand out with her interpretations, her ethos and her integrity.

At the age of 15, she participated in the artistic program of the Opening Ceremony of the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, detaching the applause of tens of thousands of people and the recognition of billions of viewers.

So far, Areti Ketime has collaborated with the greatest names in Greek music, such as George Dalaras, Glykeria, Dimitris Papadimitriou, Maria Farantouri, Eleni Vitali, Pantelis Thalassinos, Manolis Lidakis, Orpheas Peridis and others.

According to the Greek national broadcaster, ERT, the country’s national final is planned to be held on February 22 . Before that, possibly by the end of the week, a full version of the competing songs will be released to the public.

We remind you that a total of  three entries will compete in the national final and battle for the golden ticket to Lisbon:

  • From Thrace to Crete by the group Chorostalites (Spider Music)
  • Oniro mou ( My Dream) by Yianna Terzi  (Panik Entertainment)
  • Don’t Forget the sun by Areti Ketime (Spicy)
