Huge success of Eurovision in Concert 2014

This weekend the 6th edition of Eurovision in Concert was held in Melkweg concert hall in Amsterdam. 25 (out of 37) countries gathered in Netherlands capital city to promote their songs and introduce them to fans and media.

The concert scheduled at 19.30 CET started a little bit later. It was sold out and the atmosphere inside was just perfect: lots of fans from many countries (not only the host country) waved their flags as the singers jumped onto the stage.

Although all the participants were received with a huge applause, the most cheered of the night (besides the Dutch representatives, of course) were Molly from the UK, Ruth Lorenzo from Spain and Conchita Wurst from Austria.

During one of the two breaks, Sandra Reemer, the female co-host of the event, sang two of her three Eurovision songs, “The party is over” (1976) and “Colorado” (1979). These two songs are still a huge success in the Netherlands.

One of the highlights of the night was the re-union of Frizzle Sizzle, Dutch representatives in Bergen 1986 who performed their Eurovision hit “Alles heeft her ritme”. They look incredible 28 years later and still have the power to give an impressive performance of the song.

Eurovision in Concert is becoming a “must” for Eurovision fans. If you didn’t have the chance to attend here are some videos of the show.
