Hungary 2018: A Dal for Hunagary in 2018
Duna, Hungary’s public television broadcasters decided to go back to A Dal format, despite the reduced audience in 2017.
30 candidates will compete to win the vote of the jury and television audience in 3 qualifying rounds, 2 semifinals and one final show.The Final Show will be held on the 24th of February with 8 candidates. The first qualifying round is scheduled to be held on the 20th of January . Four judges will have a lot of power in the show, but the final choice will be made by the audience’s vote through the official application of the show.
For A Dal 2018, there are two general rules: famous singers and songs only in Hungarian (however, it is possible to accept songs in English or in minority languages of Hungary). Applications will be accepted until the 15th of November.
Hungary has not won the contest, yet. The best result of the country was in 1994 represented by Friderika and her song Kinek mondjam el Vetkeimet (4th place – 122 points).
