Iceland: Sigga, Beta and Elín to appear in Turin under new name “Systur”

Sigga, Beta & Elín will represent Iceland at Eurovision 2022 with the new name “Systur”
Sigga, Beta & Elín were the big winners of the national final Söngvakeppnin 2022 and will represent Iceland at Eurovision 2022 with the song “Með hækkandi sól”.
After their victory in the national final Söngvakeppnin 2022, Sigga, Beta & Elín decided to appear in Turin under the name “Systur” which means “Sisters” in Icelandic.
Systur will be performing in the second half of the 2nd semi final on May 12 in Turin, Italy.

Iceland in Eurovision
Iceland has been taking part in the Eurovision Song contest since 1986 and has not won the competition to date.
Best placing so far was in 1999 with Selma and in 2009 with Yohana, when the country finished in the 2nd place.
In 2021 Iceland represented by Daði & Gagnamagnið who sang “10 Years” which finished 4th place with only 378 points.
