Iceland: Songvakeppnin 2015- national final on 14 February

The Icelandic  RUV ,  has announced the dates of the Icelandic Euroviasion national selection – Songvakeppnin 2015. The  national broadcaster has received 258 entries willing to participate at the forthcoming Icelandic Eurovision national selection. The broadcaster has selected a total of 12 acts for the competition. The whole procedure  will consist of 3 shows ( 2 semi-finals and a grand final.) All shows have been scheduled to take place on dates as following:

– 31/01 – Songvakeppnin 2015 Semi-final 1

– 07/02- Songvakeppnin 2015 Semi final 2

– 14/02- Songvakeppnin 2015 Grand final

In 2014 Iceland selected Pollapönk via a national selection to fly the Icelandic flag at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen. The Icelandic group achieved a 15th placing in the final with their entry No Prejudice.

The names of the artist that will compete in this years forthcoming national semifinals will be revealed in the near future.
