Iceland: Songvakeppnin 2020 second semi final results; All grand final spots determined
The second semi final of Songvakeppnin 2020 took place tonight determining the last three spots of the grand final of the Icelandic national selection.
This evening’s show took place at Haskolabio Conference Hall in Reykjavik and saw the following 5 acts taking the stage:
- Daði & Gagnamagnið – Gagnamagnið
- Hildur Vala – Fellibylur
- Iva – Oculis Videre
- Nína – Ekkó
- Matti Matt – Dreyma
Among the contestants wa Daði Freyr who had competed in Songvakeppnin το 2017 and Matti Matt who as member of the group Sjonni’s Friends represented the country in Eurovision 2011.
From these 5 acts only two made it to the final and the result was determined by public and jury voting (50% each) , while one extra wildcard was awarded to one act from both semi final rounds. In the semi finals the acts sing all entries in Icelandic while in the final they will sing their songs in the same language they will do on the Eurovision stage in case of a nationa final victory.
Therefore the three acts that qualified to the final from this semi final round were:
Daði & Gagnamagnið – Gagnamagnið
Iva – Oculis Videre
Nína – Ekkó (Wildcard)
After today’s second semi final the three qualifiers will join in the final the following two semi final 1 qualifiers:
