Iceland: Söngvakeppnin 2022 first semi-final results

Iceland’s national selection for Eurovision 2022 started this afternoon with the first semifinal of Söngvakeppnin 2022.

10 entries will compete in the national selection, which consists of two semifinals and a grand final. Five acts compete in each semifinal with the public voting to select two from each semifinal. In addition, the jury will select one more participant to qualify for the final from the non-qualifiers of the semifinals.

The 5 contestants who took the stage tonight were:

Amarosis – “Don’t you know”

Stefán Óli – “Ljósið” (The light)/ “All I know”

Haffi Haff – “Gía” / “Volcano”

Stefanía Svavarsdóttir – “Hjartað mitt” (My heart) / “Heart of mine”

Sigga, Beta & Elín – “Með hækkandi sól” (With the rising sun)

The Results

The two acts that made it to the Grand final directly are: 

  1. Stefán Óli – “Ljósið” (The light)/ “All I know”
  2. Sigga, Beta & Elín – “Með hækkandi sól” (With the rising sun)

The Icelandic selection continues next Saturday, March 5 with the second semi final show to determine two more qualifiers.
