In Lisbon and MEO arena The Eurovision Song Contest 2018

Last year we had to wait until September in order to find out the city and the arena that would held the Contest. This year EBU and Portugal are already ready. RTP the National Broadcater of Portugal announced that the city which will held the ESC 2018 is Lisbon. MEO arena will be the venue of the contest which will be held on the 8, 10 and 12 of May 2018.

The 1st semi final will take place on the 8th, the second on the 10th and the Grand Final on the 12th of May 2018. The rehearsals will begin 2 weeks earlierin MEO arena on the 30th of April.

MEO arena is the stadium that will host the contest. The capacity of the stadium is for 20.000 people. MEO is the biggest indoor stadium in Portugal and one of the biggest in Europe.  The building was designed by Portuguese architect Regino Cruz for EXPO’98. The arena has already been used for football matches, it hosted the MTV Video Music Awards of 2005 and music concerts of Lady Gaga, Madonna, One Direction etc.
