Ireland: It’s Lesley Roy to Rotterdam with “Story Of My Life”

During the morning show  , Breakfast with Doireann and Eoin, on RTÉ 2FM  the Irish broadcaster RTÉ unveiled the country’s Eurovision 2020 act and entry. Internally selected  Lesley Roy will represent Ireland at the 65th Eurovision Song Contest singing“Story Of My Life”.

Lesley Roy will be flying the Irish flag in Rotterdam next May with her entry “Story of my life”. Lesley Roy herself is behind the prodction, alongside with co-writers from Nashville: Robert Marvin, Catt Gravitt and Tom Shapiro. It’s an  encouraging uptempo song talking of overcoming your diffculties and getting back up on your feet again.

A FEW WORDS ABOUT LESLEY

Lesley Roy (born 1987) is a singer-songwriter from Balbriggan in Dublin, Ireland. She was signed to an independent Irish label and in 2006, licensed to US label, Jive Records. She released her debut album, Unbeautiful in 2008, which was executive produced by Max Martin. Until switching her focus to songwriting, and attracting the attention of Marc Jordan, the manager credited for launching the career of Rihanna and owner of Rebel One Management & Publishing. As a songwriter Roy has experienced international success with releases for artists including Adam Lambert, Miss Montreal, Medina, Jana Kramer, and Marlee Scott.
